Phone-hacking Trial - The Sentences

On Monday and Tuesday of this week, mitigation pleas were heard on behalf of the five former News of the World employees convicted of conspiracy to intercept voicemail. (Read a full account of both days  HERE and HERE)

Today, the Judge - Mr. Justice Saunders - passed down sentences as follows:

Andy Coulson - (Former Editor of NotW and ex-Downing Street Communications Director)
Found guilty by Jury of conspiracy to intercept voicemail.

Sentence:

18 months



Sentencing remarks:



Glenn Mulcaire  - (Former Private Investigator for NoTW)
Pleaded guilty (pre-trial) to conspiracy to intercept voicemail.

Sentence:
6 months suspended and 200hrs unpaid work



Greg Miskiw  - (Former News Editor at NotW)
Pleaded guilty (pre-trial) to conspiracy to intercept voicemail.

Sentence:
6 months







Neville Thurlbeck  - (Former Chief Reporter at NotW)
Pleaded guilty (pre-trial) to conspiracy to intercept voicemail.

Sentence:
6 months





James Weatherup  - (Former Assistant News Editor at NotW)
Pleaded guilty (pre-trial) to conspiracy to intercept voicemail.

Sentence:
4 months - suspended for 12 months - 200hrs Community Service
