Grant v Dacre grudge match continues..

With the Leveson Inquiry closed since last Thursday for two weeks, no doubt to give the officials and everyone else a well-earned breather, there is one intriguing battle still publicly raging - that between Paul Dacre and Hugh Grant.

Evan Davis had recorded an interview with Hugh Grant last night which was broadcast on this morning's BBC Radio 4 Today programme at about 8:30 a.m.. Davis invited Hugh Grant to reply to Dacre's evidence given last Thursday, February 9th, to the Leveson Inquiry. It was Dacre's categoric denial of the actor's belief that the Mail on Sunday had run stories based on hacked voicemail messages which sparked Round 4 of this 'grudge match' we heard this morning.

Part of Dacre's evidence, during his second appearance at the Inquiry on Monday 6th February can be seen HERE and his further questioning by Mr. Sherborne, counsel for the victims, on Thursday February 9th, HERE.

Evan Davis' full interview of Hugh Grant on the Today programme is here in Audioboo form:

Following the interview, Davis said that Associated Newspapers had been invited to comment but they replied that they had nothing to add to Paul Dacre's evidence given last Thursday.

Over to you, Mr. Dacre?
